Marabe, Maru, Micah, Pundari and Gore must lead the protest against O’Neill.

Many credible people in our society have used this forum (pngblogs.com) to accuse Peter O’Neill of gross corruption and they have produced sufficient evidences to substantiate those claims. He not only ignores every legitimate concern as raised by the institutions, other elected leaders, and the citizens of this country; but he continues to shamelessly deplete the country’s resources undeterred. Well, I get that he is one “son of bitch” who does not give a shit about any current or future Tom, Dick and Harry. What matters most to him, seems to be his sole consuming goal in every deal and decision.
But what I do not get is the number of “good men and women,” especially members of O’Neill’s NEC who are either directly or indirectly participating this broad daylight robbery. Insiders tell me that Polye and Duma paid the price for not willing to “endorse” O’Neill’s corrupt deals. That is commendable. But what frustrates most of us is that some godly Christian MPs who think it’s alright to pal around with a PM whom they know as evil with dictatorial tendencies have decided to do nothing.
Here I am thinking of the Finance Minister James Marabe. He is a godly leader, a son of God-fearing pastor. Most Taris and Christians around the country see him as a shining leader who has a great future ahead. So long as he remains faithful to the “One who send him into the Parliament” at the first place, he will be a force for good in this country. If anyone knows the inner workings of Peter O’Neill well, it is Marabe (besides Polye, Duma and Micah). If Marabe knows that he is being used by the Prime Minister to achieve the latter’s evil plans, I appeal to him that he should stand up and do what is right. Marabe should not torment his own God-given conscience. One should serve God and people with a huge sense of responsibilities and integrity. He should rid himself of all those lame excuses and lies – only because he wanted to please O’Neill. I am waiting to see him be true to God and start serving the people of this country.
I wanted to extend the same appeal to Ministers Richard Maru, Delilah Gore, Ben Micah and John Pundari. Richard Maru in particular has a sterling work ethics, very principled, down-to-earth, and exudes an exemplary leadership style. He definitely has a long way to go. But sometimes I wonder if he is really aware of all these issues surrounding the O’Neill government. If he is aware of them, and knows them to be true, I also wonder what his intentions are. Just simply staying “out of trouble” shouldn’t be a strategy. One should speak up. He should speak against it. Maru and Marabe should speak for the millions of voiceless who have no idea where this country is headed.
The recently appointed Minister for HERS, Delilah Gore has surprised us (those of us who know her very well). In her heart she knows that the right thing to do is to have Albert Schram returned to Unitech. But the position she has taken is not borne out of her own convictions. But it has been dictated to her. She knows the right thing to do but she couldn’t because of the ministerial portfolio given to her. My appeal to her: Ms. Gore, if you cannot freely serve God and people of this country, then you should tender in your resignation. You shouldn’t allow yourself to be used (against your own conviction) by the Prime Minister or anyone else to support corruption. Do not facilitate evil. Do not support evil. O’Neill did not send you to parliament, but God did. Your first duty is to be true to Him, and then faithfully serve the people of this country.
During Sir Mekere’s reign, Pundari and Micah were the “king makers.” They called the shots and made things happen. But they both lost a term and were out there in the cold. I’m sure they know why and how they lost, and how they made a comeback. Since they missed a term each, I fear they are willing to serve whatever PM comes their way and accumulate much wealth as much as possible. Well, we are just hoping that you twos have learned a lesson or two to do what is right this time around.
In conclusion, allow me to refresh your memory with this quote:
“The greatest want of this age is the want of men [and women] – men [and women] who will not be bought or sold; men [and women] who are true and honest in their innermost souls; men [and women] who will not fear to call sin by its right name, and to condemn it, in themselves or in others; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men [and women] who will stand for the right, though the heavens fall.”
Marabe, Pundari, Maru, Micah and Gore – be the kind of leader God has called and ordained you to be. If you decide to either ignore, wink at, facilitate or participate in evil, we cannot do anything but only the One who appointed you to represent Him at such a time as this will deal with you.
