Good Wins Over Evil, Justice Is Served, Albert Schram Returns to Unitech
A convoy of over 50 vehicles, most of them filled PMV buses and tipper trucks, drove to meet Unitech VC Albert Schram at Lae Nadzab airport and bring him back to Lae in perhaps the most impressive parade Lae
has ever seen. The elation and outpouring of joy was not purchased with pigs or beer, but by a victory of justice achieved after a long, hard battle and heartfelt pride.
The video clip shows the parade proceeding through toptown Lae. The energy from the students was tremendous, even after more than an hour on the road.
Albert Schram arrived in Papua New Guinea around 11AM. He had finally received the work (employment) visa everyone had insisted that he get.
Hundreds of supporters met him at Nadzab airport. Unitech's students, their example of unending persistence and nonviolence in the face of an unfriendly government-influenced print media, won the day.
The boycott was called off with the VC's return and the SRC president said classes start tomorrow.
